Shri Puranchandra Gupta Smarak Trust was established in the year 1987 to perpetuate the sacred memory of late Shri Puran Chandra Gupta, the Founder of Dainik Jagran, the largest read newspaper of the country across all languages. The trust was registered as an educational society for the purpose of developing and catering to educational, spiritual, cultural and health needs of the most deprived areas of Kanpur and for other philanthropic purposes. One of the main objectives for establishment of the society was to serve the society by establishing educational institutions to give benefit to the people irrespective of caste, creed, race or religion and without havingany profit motive.
